2018 New Hotels

February 28, 2018

With 2018 well and truly underway (can you believe that it’s almost MARCH!) we have been keeping an eye on some new hotel projects that are all due to this year. Take a peek at some of our favourites, and DO let us know if you’ve got plans to visit any of them (or the destinations in which they are located), as we’d love to help get you there!

THE RETREAT at BLUE LAGOON, ICELAND

Having been to Iceland ourselves, we can tell you first hand that the destination is definitely worth the hype, and while some travel insiders are saying that Iceland is SO 2017, it’s still certainly worth a visit and remains one of our favourite destinations in the world.

The Blue Lagoon (despite the tourist trap vibes) is also still also worth having on your itinerary, and set to open in April 2018, The Retreat at the Blue Lagoon is set to offer a truly luxury experience, at one of the worlds most sought after locations.

The retreat will be built into the volcanic frontier and encircled by the Blue Lagoon’s mineral-rich geothermal waters, along side it’s own mineral rich lagoon, giving it’s guests unparalleled access to this iconic site, with a much more private experience.

The suites will boast floor-to-ceiling windows, and terraces surrounded by the radiant geothermal waters. Balconies providing unforgettable perspectives on the volcanic horizon.

With a signature spa and restaurant on site, The Retreat at Blue Lagoon will open the door to the living heritage and diverse delights of Icelandic culture and cuisine.

COMO, UMA CANGGU, BALI

Bali is a much loved destination for our clients (both here in Australia and our clients around the world) and we’ve been watching as Canggu transformed from a sleepy surf village, to the hip scene that you will find today. With great dining, coffee, yoga and some of the best surf in Bali, it makes sense that COMO group are one of the first to bring a full service, luxury hotel to the area.

COMO UMA, Canggu will have prime beachfront location and to maximise the deliciously laid-backed vibes of Canggu, the hotel will be centred around the COMO Beach Club, which looks out to Echo Beach’s famous surf breaks.

They will have 119 rooms, suites and apartments (including penthouses with rooftop pools from which to survey the scene), along with seven treatment rooms that will bring their COMO Shambhala Retreat treatments, to the coast.

We will be watching eagerly as this property opens, and as the location develops.

SIX SENSES BHUTAN

Six Senses are on fire this year, opening properties in Fiji, Bhutan, Singapore, Cambodia, Bali, India and plenty more…. but Bhutan has us pretty damn excited. It’s a destination that we long to travel to, and know that our clients, who love the combination of cultural immersion, eco-adventure and luxury, will find this property fascinating.

Six Senses have created a 5 property circuit between Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey, Bumthang and Paro in lodges that reflect the heritage and hospitality of this fascinating kingdom, that positions itself as the ‘Happiest place on earth’.
