Be inspired by our friends at AMAN……

From the temple-hugged Himalayan peaks of Bhutan to the history-laden cities of Old China, Aman destinations unlock breathtaking landscapes, hidden civilisations and quiet moments of exhilaration.

CHINA

As the ancient Taoist proverb goes, the journey is the reward; and China is a land of many journeys. Follow winding paths through Unesco-protected Lijiang, historic capital of the Nakhi kingdom, to Amandayan. Enlist a private Aman guide and uncover age-old secrets on the slopes of Jade Dragon Mountain, in the depths of Tiger Leaping Gorge or at the feet of the Buddha at Sangzanlin. A few miles beyond Shanghai in Hangzhou, awaken with the dawn at Amanfayun to join the monks in chanting a welcome to the coming day or watch the sun begin its arc through the sky from the numerous pagodas, temples and gardens surrounding Unesco-protected West Lake. Sheltered from the bustle of Beijing, the pagodas and pavilions of Aman Summer Palace invite communion with serenity, while the palace grounds are best explored by dragon boat. China’s multifaceted capital, the spiritually uplifting far southwest, and the mystical east are as auspicious as destinations can be for welcoming in the Lunar New Year.

BHUTAN

Five lodges scattered across the world’s last surviving Buddhist kingdom comprise Amankora’s full circuit, where a dedicated driver escorts guests on a tailor-made itinerary.

The lodge at Paro is a pine-forest hideaway beside the mighty Mount Jomolhari; Thimphu is a reimagined dzong fortress; Gangtey overlooks a valley in the Kalkajaka National Park; reach the former farmhouse, Punakha, by a suspension bridge festooned with prayer flags; and discover Bumthang lodge next to a royal palace in Bhutan’s most sacred region. Admire the shifting scenery on the journey from lodge to lodge, discover the gravity-defying majesty of the Tiger’s Nest Monastery and inhale the fresh, crisp air of the sun-kissed Bhutanese winter.

INDONEISIA

A vision of prehistory still haunts the rust-red shores of the Sunda Islands. Set sail from Amanwana and discover the real-life dragons of Komodo aboard twin-masted Amandira, a traditional phinisi sailing vessel, or charter Amanikan, a hardwood cruiser inspired by classic spice trading vessels and hand-built by the Konjo craftspeople of Sulawesi.

Weave through waters rich with marine life and dive with manta rays around Indonesia’s most remote archipelagos, including the famed Spice Islands of the Moluccas, the Sunda dragonlands and the astonishingly biodiverse Raja Ampat, where the Indian Ocean meets and mingles with the Pacific.

FRANCE

With its renewed spirit and enduring château heritage, a freshly remodelled Aman Le Mélézin, on the Bellecôte Piste, takes Alpine elegance to new heights.

Authentic Norwegian hot tubs recently added to three of the suites insist you soak under a starry sky, or take in the theatre of an exhilarating blizzard while experiencing this healing hydrotherapy from the privacy of your terrace. Taste the finest flavours of Les Trois Vallées as part of the unique half-board arrangement which lets you dine at La Table du Mélézin, as well at some of Courchevel’s best restaurants.
