With 2016 coming to a (rapid) close, we are keeping our eyes on a few fantastic new properties that are set to open in 2017, and there are seven properties that we think should be on your hit list for the New Year.
Belmond rolls into London, a Roman icon is reborn, Firmdale follows up the wildly successful Crosby Street with another Manhattan masterpiece, and Waldorf Astoria creates a modern-day Beverly Hills muse. Outside of the cities, Six Senses opens five new luxury lodges in Bhutan and Four Seasons rebrands Vietnam’s famed Hoi An haven, The Nam Hai. First, and much closer to home, we get a glimpse of the Mornington Peninsula’s first true luxury hotel, Jackalope – opening early next year. Jackalope Mornington Peninsula Reverie reigns in Jackalope’s 46 luxury rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces connect guests to the countryside while rain showers, custom-made bath products and the option of deep-soak Japanese baths create a spa-like setting in your private perch overlooking the picturesque Willow Creek vineyard. Rooms range from 38 sqm through to 85 sqm ‘Lairs’ – the latter lavished with loft ceilings, an expansive 30 sqm terrace, an indoor/outdoor fireplace, and a personal cocktail bar and wine cellar. Jackalope also comprises a 30-metre black infinity pool lapping over the vines, extensive art commissions and installations, two restaurants, a cocktail bar, private dining options, and an on-site winery and cellar door/food store. Jackalope is taking reservations for bookings from 01 April 2017. For Seasons Resort The Nam Hai
