Back in March I ventured off on my first International ‘work trip’ since having my little boy Artie, and I was a guest of tourism Fiji, to attend their 2024 Matai Conference at the Sofitel Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.
Here I met with over 40 Fijian hotel, resort and tourism partners, to introduce me to their product and recieve updates on their properties.
It is always a pleasure attending industry events like these, as I am able to get all the latest intel & make connections with the hoteliers and teams who are on the ground, making your stay an exceptional one.

We were then whisked away to experience some of the Mamanuca Islands for 5 days of resort and island hopping.
The Islands
When it comes to Fiji I tend to work with the properties that offer my clients great value and VIP perks via my preferred partnerships with Virtuoso, such as Kokomo Private Island, VOMO Island and Royal Davui, but there is always the need to explore some of the other island resorts that are suitable to clients eat all price points and demographics.
Seeing the properties personally gives me greater insight into which resort is suited to which client, and that in itself is pretty priceless.
On this trip I visited:
Plantation Island Resort
Castaway Island Resort
Lomani Island Resort
Musket Cove Island Resort
Tokoriki Island Resort
Sheraton Tokoriki Island Resort
Waya Island Resort
Sofitel Fiji Beach Resort and Spa
Best for couples…

Of the resorts that I saw on this trip, the best for couples would by far be Tokoriki Island Resort.
Tokoriki Island Resort in Fiji is a luxurious, adults-only haven situated in the stunning Mamanuca Islands.
Renowned for its romantic ambiance, the resort features elegant beachfront villas and bures with private pools, offering couples unparalleled privacy and breathtaking ocean views.
With its pristine white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical gardens, Tokoriki provides an idyllic setting for honeymoons and romantic getaways. Couples can indulge in intimate dining experiences, rejuvenating spa treatments, and a variety of water activities, ensuring a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure in a serene, secluded paradise.
It was exquisite!
Best for families

Whilst I did experience a couple of great family island resorts, one of the most iconic family focused resorts in the Mamanucas, with white sand beaches, azure waters and plenty to do for the young and young at heart, is Castaway Island!
Castaway Island Resort in Fiji is a family-friendly paradise nestled in the heart of the Mamanuca Islands.
This tropical retreat offers spacious beachfront, oceanview and island bures that provide ample space and comfort for families.
The resort is celebrated for its warm hospitality and a wide range of activities designed for all ages. Children can enjoy the supervised Kids Club, which offers fun and educational programs, while parents relax by the pool or explore the vibrant marine life through snorkeling and diving. With its safe, pristine beaches, delicious dining options, and engaging cultural experiences, Castaway Island Resort ensures an unforgettable vacation where families can bond and create lasting memories together.
I loved layout of the resort, the relaxed vibe and there were no shortage of big Fijian smiles from all of the team, and I have the confidence that my clients will be well looked after during a stay here.
What about the rest?
I’m booked to go back to Fiji in August 2024, but this time with my family, and I’ll have the opportunity to experience more of Fiji’s fabulous island resorts, so stay tuned.
For more info on any of the above, or to plan your own Fijian escape, please reach out as I have preferred partner rates with many of the islands and resorts, and after attending the Tourism Fiji Matai Conference, I know all of the hoteliers who will be able to make your stay exceptional.
