I’m Kate your luxury travel specialist (and founder of WanderLuxe Travel Co).
I’ve noticed a jump in subscriptions to my Wanderluxe community, and since planning your travel is personal, it’s only fair that you know a little bit more about me.
* I created @wanderluxetravelco back in 2016. My very own independent travel agency, in affiliation with SmartFlyer Australia (One of the worlds top networks of independent travel advisors) …. But I’ve worked in the travel industry for more than 18yrs (I started when I was 3 😉)
* I live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and love that I can walk from my apartment to the beach in 5 mins, but jump on the Ferry & be in the city in 30mins.
* I’m a wifey to my English hubby (Scott) and Mumma to my beautiful 1 year old daughter Bowie.
* I’ve travelled to 53 countries (& countless destinations within most of those) and find the question ‘What’s your favourite? impossible to answer.
* More than ever I’m drawn away from cities and towards nature for my own travels. I’ve hiked to Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal, and my most recent trip was to Patagonia, Chile & can honestly say they have been some of the best experiences of my life. Although there is still something special about a vibrant city, where you can get lost in a crowd, and roam the streets for hours.
* I believe that travel is more than the bed you sleep in, but the bed you sleep in when you DO travel, has to be better than the one at home (Lush King bed with crisp fresh sheets, and a room with a view anyone ? )
* When I’m not working or wrangling my toddler, you’ll usually find me enjoying the company of friends/family, getting to the gym / yoga or hunting down a great cafe for a good (strong) coffee
* I also have an keen interest in Photography, and one of my fave things to do when I’m travelling is arrange a photo tour guide who can take me around & share their fave spots for capturing photos of the sights in their own cities. It also helps me navigate the destination & uncover some local favourites.
